GH4 No Cuda Performance

I know this is not the forum for questions outside of the GH series of cameras which I have, but I
know a lot of you had to deal with this situation yourselves using Premiere Pro.
Just upgrade my graphics card to a GeForce GTX 1070. The card was not on the list in the
Adobe list of supported cuda cards. I follow the instructions to a T and added the card to the list
and still can't enable cuda! Went back into the Adobe file and it was listed there as a supported
card and Adobe still won't activate cuda performance. Am I missing something?

p.s. I did post this question in the NLE section of dvx user. I'm only posting it here because I know
there are a lot of knowledgeable people in this group.

I believe there is a way to generate the name of the card to be used in that list.
Did you go through that process?

open the cuda supported txt file with note pad or word pad (assuming your on a PC), add the line GeForce GTX 1070, save the txt file. viola.

Tried that and it still would not accept this card. Its worked for me in the past but refuses to recognize this card.
Besides, in premiere 2015 cc there is no cuda supported txt file in the Adobe file system.

:Edit: I hadn't seen the above video. Just watched it. It's interesting, I thought I'd tried that with my GTX 670 with no luck, but maybe it was something faulty with my GPU. Good luck! I know it can be a pain. That said, when the Mercury engine works, it really works! It convinced me to stay with premiere after an aweful experience with CS4 almost made me switch.

Ok, what version of PP are you running? Since you mentioned CC 2015, I'll just assume that's what you're running and if that's the case, then all that stuff with the supported cards won't help, unfortunately, at least as far as I know. Premiere now looks at your card and decides if it meets the specifications, and if it does it then it enables CUDA Mercury Playback. The issue is probably that the card is so new, with new architecture/programming/protocol/syntax or what not, that Premiere is not see what it is expecting to see, and thinks your card is incompatible. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I don't have a new 1000 series card yet, so I can't confirm. Have you seen anyone else posting on the forums about the new 1000 series cards not working with Premiere?

I got very frustrated with my GTX 670 on my old computer because sometimes Premiere CC would just decide not to recognize it and I had to go through a process to get it working again, and was basically turning off my display driver and back on, or restarting my computer. This wasn't a problem in CS5 when I'd add it to the list.

Anyway, unfortunately, to my knowledge you're SOL until Adobe updates Premiere to fix whatever the incompatibility is.

I think there are some fundamental changes in the new 1000 series of GPU's. Blender had to get an update as well to recognize CUDA with those cards. They would not work for CUDA rendering right out of the box.

Also, be careful with drivers. Sometimes newer drivers causes problems on Premiere... I had to downgrade my drivers after an unpdate because AME and Lumetri stopped working, and I only could export if I deactivated CUDA (with x8 render time pain).
