no budget dslr feature

Doing web searches and reading reviews would probably be better suited for finding the answers to your questions in a timely manner. If most everything is falling on you, keep your gear simple and to a minimum. Make sure you budget funds to rent or buy some lighting equipments, and read up on lighting techniques (good lighting is more important than what camera you use). You also might want to read up on what professional focus pulling involves (they look at the distance marks on the lens not an LCD or viewfinder). I hope that helps, sorry I don't have the answers to your specific questions.

Thanks!

I will operate the camera alone so I can't rely on how focus pullers work because I have to watch a screen, thus judging focus on it...

I have two lights, one Arri 650w fresnel and one 1000w open flood.

I cant answer your specific questions but ill try from a general perspective. Im new to nikon but ive shot a few decent shorts with a camera with one lens 35mm,a tripod and slider, a few lights, audio recorded separately, and the actors. It came out fine and the only thing that sucked was the story but it was good experience for me.

From the clips ive seen the 7000 looks more than capable of doing a feature. Camera quality of today is very good and many features have been shot on much weaker equipment.
