Hi, I just got my GH2 and are testing the various movie modes, I have a couple of problems with 24p and I wonder if anyone can give me some advice?
The autofocus (14-45mm lens) does not seem to work when using 24p mode. It works fine in the 60i modes but won't focus when the shutter button is lightly pushed during 24p cinema mode filming.
The quality overall in 24p mode seems disappointing, I have seen better test 24p clips online but mine seem dull and blurry compared to them. the most obvious artifact is a slow shutter/strobing on vertical edges like walls when panning left to right. I don't have the camera in variable shutter mode, just standard cinema 24p.
I think I have everything at the best setting (default?) but if not then if anyone can advise or share their best quality settings with me i would appreciate it.
BTW the 24mbps 60i 1080 setting looks great so I can see the camera or lens are not at fault, I just can't get anything decent out of 24p and I know I should be able to . . . .
