no audio to headphone jack

Just purchased a DVX100AP. Great camera. Took it on a two-week shoot a week after purchase. Like to live dangerously. Got good performance and a big scare. In the second day of shooting I lost audio to my headphones. Could still see audio on meters. At end of day purchased a new set of headphones. No help. Listened to my field tapes. Was getting audio on the tape. Finished rest of shoot without using headphones. Think all is well. Still no resolution to my problem. Is this just a defective headphone jack or is there a setting I have not yet found? Any help appreciated.

Just a shot here- did you turn up the volume with the two buttons on the top of the camera? Not trying to be mean- I nearly did the same myself once...
