no audio limiter?

i can´t find a switch to "auto-limit-audio". usually on my cams the audio will be mostly near the reds. with the DVX i always need to adjust manually. is there a hidden siwtch? i can´t find anything in the manual either..

what does ALC stand for then? Automatic Limit C....

The ALC is indeed for automatic limiter control. There is no auto level control on the DVX, all levels are set by the potentiometers. The limiter kicks in to help control clipping and distortion on loud signals.
