No Audio Input in Tape Mode

Our HVX200 is operating normally in P2 mode. But in Tape mode, we cannot get any audio into it -- not through the on-board mic, or external (XLR) inputs, mic or line. We have tried all combinations of switch settings, putting a tape in, actually recording, all to no avail.

Again, all audio inputs work properly in P2 mode.

Has anyone heard of this problem? Is this a question for Panasonic's service people?

There's only 2 channel in Tape. So you need to setup the input you need to use to the Channel 1 and 2. By example switch the channel 1 to INT MIC (L) and channel 2 to INT MIC (R) and try to see if the sound records. If not, change your tape, verify your settings.

Problem Solved. It was a bad codec board, which has been replaced by the hard-working geniuses at F V V S in West Dundee, Illinois.

We still don't know what CAUSED the problem in the first place. "Sometimes, boards go bad ... "
