No audio from headphones

Hello everyone,
When I plug my head phones into my DXV 100A, I can't get any audio. I'm still able to record films and I have sound when I import everything to Final Cut.
I just hate the fact that I can't monitor the sound, very frustrating.
Does anyone know how I can fix the problem without bringing my DVX to Panasonic? My warranty has expired and they want $250 to fix the problem. They said the C wire is loose and needs fixing. $150 for the part and $100 for the labour.

Just to be sure, you've tried turning up the headphone audio level (the buttons on top of the camera) right? If that's not it, you may be looking at a trip to a service center.

I've tried all that. The technician at Panasonic said its a C wire from the headphone jack has come loose.
 
Has anyone had this problem before? If anyone has, can you please tell me if I can fix it myself, I really don't want to spend $250 to replace a wire.

I have a similar problem . If I put the jack in all the way , I get no sound , If i pull it out part way , I then have sound ..I am learning to live with it at this time .Like you $250 for a repair is hard on the wallet.
