No Audio during playback w/Mojo

I'm looking for answers and/or advice on fixing a serious problem with my system.

I had started a project yesterday and realized that my audio was not working. I am running Avid Express Pro with a Mojo. While I was importing the audio it registered on my meter and I was able to monitor it. But when I played the digitized audio, I realized that it did not work. Not only did it not work, it did not register on my audio meter.

I closed that project and checked another projects audio. It to did not work.

I had read in another forum that it may be a problem with the mojo. So I unplugged it and tried to hear audio with out my Mojo...My audio worked.

So, I have narrowed the problem down to my Mojo. However, there is very little information on this problem. Does anybody have any idea of why this is happening and what I can do about it.

I'm confused. Are you monitoring your audio through the Mojo when it's plugged in, or still trying to monitor it through your PC?

It's not the fact of where I'm monitoring it from.....

When the Mojo is connected there is no audio to even be heard. In fact, it doesn't even register with in my Avid. It is as if the Audio completely dissapears from all of my projects.

Unplug the Mojo, and the audio in my Avid works fine.

I can still digitize footage using my Mojo and bring in the audio. But I have to unplug my mojo to hear the audio in playback.

I hate that this problem is confusing.....Imagine my dumbfounded look when I discovered what was happening.

Has it ever worked with your Avid? Meaning is this a new problem on a previously working system, or is this the first time you've tried working with a Mojo?

I'm afraid I don't have any solid answers for you, just trying to troubleshoot and figure it out. This might be something to call Avid tech support over.

First, I appreciate the help in troubleshooting. This is such an unusual problem that I can't seem to figure it out myself.

To answer your question, no this is a new problem. I've had my Avid for over a year now. I've been using some sort of Avid system for quite a few years, but I am very new to the Mojo Thing. So I don't have a whole lot of experience with issues.

My guess would be that the problem has to do with a defective "sound card". At least that is what it is acting like. But I'm confused that it effects the software the way it does. Remember, with the Mojo connected there are no audio levels at all with in a project.

I have read somewhere that reinstalling the software may cure the problem. But I would rather isolate and identify the problem before I go through the pain of a reinstall. Plus I'm in the middle of a project and can't delete those files.

I don't have that many work hours on my Mojo. I typically only edit smaller projects like commercials once or twice a month. I am kind of frustrated that Avid would put out a product with so many problems. It seems that a lot of people are having all sorts of issues with the Mojo. Hopefully, I can fix mine without buying a new one.

I'll be looking foward to a reply.

If it is a hardware problem with Mojo, then that would definitely be a call Avid type situation. Do you know anyone else in your area with an Avid that you can plug your Mojo into and see if you could confirm that it's a problem that follows the Mojo and not something that is specific to your computer or your software?

I do....However I am going to have to "Ninja" on this. The company who I used to work for has a Mojo System. I happen to be their competition now and I doubt I can walk in and start the testing. But my closest friends still work there and they should help me out.

This is why it is always better to troubleshoot in groups. Very simple, but was too stressed to think about it.

Thanks,

I'll let you know how it turns out. Although it may be a few days before I can get my Mojo over there.
