No A1 audio track after p2 import in Avid

I know there is some information about this topic on the boards already but I thought I might list my experience in detail to save people the trouble I had. When importing a large amount of mxf files into avid, you may find that the audio track A1 is offline inexpicably on all of the clips. If you log the footage before dealing with this problem, you may lose all your work so make sure to fix the problem before doing anything else.

I have read several different solutions and this is the one that worked for me:

1. Import your files, then scan with media tool
2. Move one audio A1 track from the avid mediafiles/mxf/1/ folder (ie 00DQ2300) onto your desktop while avid is running (do not copy, make sure to move)
3. Click back on avid, you should had a dialog box pop up quickly that updates your database files
4. Move the audio track back into your avid mediafiles/mxf/1/ folder
5. click back on avid, dialog box should pop up again, scan with media tool again, and your sound should be restored on all clips

This did not work for me when I tried it the first time because I already logged the clips (ie changed their names in avid). I recieved "structured_exception" errors, so make sure to fix the audio problem first before changing the clips in anyway.

I hope this helps someone.
