NO 30p on the HVX200E. Why?

I just bought a PAL HVX200E.

Whereas many potential user of the HVX 200E did complaint about the lack of 24p on the PALversion, i never considered it an serious issue for many reasons.

But I did sacrifice the better slomo on the NTSC against the better resolution in DVCPRO 50 on the PAL model. But only to find out, that the progressive framerate of 30p is missing on the PAL in both, 1080 and 720 at all.

Is this again a marketing issue or is it due to the different frequencies? And, does one really miss something with the 30p? Anyone got experience or can comment on this?

There is no 30p in 480 or 1080 modes. 30p comes from the frequency; you can't embed 30 progressive frames into 50 fields. You can imbed 25 progressive frames in 50 fields, but not 30. So in the European version you get 25p, in the US you get 24 and 30. It's the same way with the DVX, the XL2, etc.
