let me know what ya guys think.

there are 3 major issues in this. let me know if you spot em.

I there a tripod in the background at 1:12?

Your actors are very skilled :) I'd reccomend investing in a good UV filter if you plan to do more shots like that... the BG in the sun is really blown out. OR, add a white diffuse filter and make it an intended effect :)

I like the magic effect, it looked pretty convincing. Also is that wushu they are using?

It was pretty well done in every aspect! The only problem was the blown out background....really really irritating. imo.

thanks for the comments everyone...yea sadly I fail and I left my filter kit in another bag at home.
Instead I brought my filter kit for 35mm lens. I wasn't intending to use the adapter for this shoot due to time restrictions and we were soon kicked out of the lot after filming our last scene for the teaser.
k I'll list the problems:
1.you guys got it right when there was a tripod in the background.
2. at 50 sec I had a continuity issue but I guess made it sorta work with editing.
3.at around 53 secs I broke the 180 degree rule there.

sometimes I think breaking the 180 degree rule can sometimes work in action sequences because the cutting on action can sometimes save the it. Although I think in my case I didn't like it and it wasn't intentional.

Oh yea and the 2 fighting are both versed in many martial art forms but yes they are very skilled in wushu as well. :D

Thanks again for watching everyone. next time I shoot I'll make sure to remember all my goodies such as filters. I'll probably have help next time too. I need to make this 1 man crew into a 2 man crew and have that person check for continuity errors :P.

first of all I agree with you..
second.. It worked out great. And when people who watch it don't notice anything, you shouldn't mind it that much.. It's only when you see if they clearly broke the rule that they should do something about it, in my opinion..
it's good to break rules every once in a while.. tarantino does it all the time..

The only mistake I found is that ninjas are totally awesome and pirates are lame. So the ninja should have killed him in the first 1 second. Otherwise I liked it a lot - luv that magic trail effect when the ninja jumps and runs. BTW, are you using some video co-pilot sound effects? Just ordered mine too.

HAHAHAH luved it...whens part-2? Who wins?

haha thanks, the winner is pretty much determined through a user vote through comments. so far the ninja has a lot more votes and it looks like but you never know. we will be filming soon once we tally up the votes.
