I've been interested in the Ninja Blade / Ninja Star.

What I originally was interested in was getting 10bit color from my FS700. From what I've read though, this is not possible with the Ninja. If anyone knows any way of getting 10 bit colour without having to upgrade to 4k with Sony upgrade or convergent design please let me know.

Next I was interested in the Prores format Ninja records to. Is this worth the price ($1000 for ninja blade) in your opinion? Watching the very few comparisons I could find on youtube there is little noticable difference. Then again those tests didn't really stress the camera and were useless. I just always feel like my image is crumbling apart in post. I'm not sure what it would benefit from more. 4k or 10bit? I like colour grading so I've always been interested in having 10bit colour depth to see how I can pull the colours even further. I can't quite figure out if the Ninja is able to record the slowmo that the FS700 captures too. Does it go up to 120/240fps?
95% of my work end's up on Youtube so is this all pointless? Will you be able to tell a difference?

I would assume the ProRes codec will be better than the internal AVCHD. But can anyone tell me if that justifies buying the Ninja Blade or Star? Or do you think I should forget about 4k and 10bit for now? If I shoot in 4k and I'm exporting my projects in 1080p for Youtube does that make the 4k useless or does it still make a noticable difference in your 1080 image? I'm always looking to upgrade, but maybe I should invest what little money I have more in new lenses or lights or something.

I have been shooting tons of footage with the Samurai Blade. The big advantage is the ready to edit ProRes files also as a security back up from the internal SD Card. There is no real big difference in visual quality compared to AVCHD. Maybe in post when you push the footage hard. But the difference is small and neither worth the price nor would I recommend to push the footage that hard. For better quality you have to invest money. Either for a 7Q/7Q+ with the Sony FS700 raw option or a camera with better internal codecs like the FS7. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear. my2cts
