Ninja 720P questions?

Barry, Jarred,

Granted the 1080P video (desert/guitar) was shot in decent light, the video looks clean even after compressing to WMV format.

The Ninja video, more so the slow-mo, seems to have more compression artifacts, especially in the subtle smoke tailing into darkness.

If you were to A/B the originals, how do they compare?

Also, is it possible to get a higher bit rate WMV version of the three or four videos available?

You can tell I'm really edging to see the raw video. :)

Thanks, Steve

I would love it if someone would just go outside and film something, ONE THING, in 1080P, then in 720P then in 480i just so we can tell the difference. You can't tell the difference between 1080P stuff shot in daylight and 720P stuff shot in twilight, granted they both look kickass but c'mon Panasonic gods, do a straight up simple comparison using one thing to photograph!!

He isn't a ninja, that is Kung Fu.

Sorry, that's all I have. Yours is a pretty good question, though. I am guessing the dark areas artifacts are coming from the web compression. Really hope so...

its not as easy to just go and shoot something.. remember the cameras are not out yet.. and anything we shoot needs to go through the Panasonic ladders for clearence.

I understand Jarred, however, in my fantasy driven mind, the cameras are in the hands of talented DPs as we speak who can't open their mouths and share until December 29th passes

I don't remember seeing any compression artifacts at the show. There was noise in the blues, but those LCD monitors would show a noisy picture with color bars.
