What's this? A nearly untouched self portrait? Yikes!!

That is pretty much exactly what I look like at this moment. I had just gotten the sb600 and my friend and I were playing with it as a remote flash. What a great flash it is.

I really like this one Matt, great emotion in the image. What was your lighting setup for this? I got that you were trying out a new light, I'm wondering about position, bounce, soft box y/n...Really diggin the shot, methinks it's the best self portrait you've presented so far:thumbsup:

It's a winner, nice pp... I might be inclined to dodge his left leg and shoe a wee bit but that's all:)

It could also be my monitors I guess, but I'm not seeing any detail at all in this area and am thinking if you just dodged this area to get a bit of detail back it may improve the shot.

Oh, I get it... I thought you were talking about the boy who was standing behind him. Yeah, that's not a bad idea. I'll get on it, and thanks for the suggestion.

While you're in there with the hammer and saw, The black bit at the very top that you cloned in serves no point other than to distract, IMO it would look better if you replaced it with the Grey wall material...Just a thought:)

Thanks Mino, and good call on the lighting. You eye never ceases to both amaze and irritate the sh!t outt me with what you can see.

That was taken with a Nikor 50mm using the D70's remote trigger, and my new SB600 flash. We turned down the main flash just a little and my friend who took the picture held the camera in right hand and with his left pointed the flash above his head and to the right where there is a white corner of the room, where the ceiling meets the walls.

Cheap man's umubrella.

Good call chief. I'm glad you like it.

I am having some trouble incorporating it with my Powerlight 1250's. I dunno what I am doing wrong, the powerlighs pop before the shutter goes of in remote mode. If I just use the camera's built in flash it works perfectly. Very odd.

Thank you for the nice words.

Hey Mino, here is another ins the same kind of setup:

This time the boucne was straight at the ceiling, tilted so no shadows or the least mount of shadows could be seen.

I love Nikon's AWL. It rules.

I used it with FP sync and a DIY straw snoot to get this shot. It was taken in my living room with about 800w equivalent CF bulbs turned on. Shutter speed was 1/1000 so I was about to cut out all the ambient light.

I haven't the foggiest idea of what you wrote, except I also think that is an exceptional flash for the money.

Cool pic by the way.

Here is the first post from my newly used D200 I got for $800 bucks.

Yeah I was lucky to get her to stay still...and with a huge umbrella and flash right next to her it was pretty crazy!

I just posted an updated version. There was some lint that was drawing the eye away from the cat! All fixed. Also posted the original!

I just went back a couple of pages to see what I have been missing since I have been getting use to my D200. Holy S**T. The level of images that are coming out of these people on this site are amazing and I am left in aw every time I go back a couple of pages. Keep em comin guys! Great stuff from all of you! I couldn't even imagine if the DVXUser Photo Contest was going right now, it would be such hard competition. That is what I live for is competition though. It seems like we have a lot of good photoshoppers too.

Matt, your boy is growing! I've been off the boards mostly for a month of two and he's really looking more and more like a 'little person' with each shot. You getting much sleep?
