cheezweezl, those are really good. I'm curious how you did your color correction. I love that caterpillar one, the detail is amazing.

I'm guessing that was the D70, right? Only because you said stock lens and that isn't what I have on my D50... Nice glass, but beautiful shots.

OK, well tonight I spent a little time playing in Photoshop after I got done packing for my trip to DC tomorrow. I also went outside and used some of the 30 second exposure hints that ya'll shared with me. I have no idea what I'm doing, but it ended up working out alright.

Scharkey, I actually ended up using the timer function and just locked the camera down... I figure that will work until I get a remote.

Well here are the normal followed by the corrections... sorry for so many.

As you can see, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing with these night photographs... I played with the Fstop, tried to keep the ISO at 200, and left the exposure open for 30 seconds. I just have no idea what I'm doing, so any advice (other than find more interesting stuff, because I know, I was just walking around my complex) would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for posting so many, but I think the flower picture is pretty.

That is awesome! Honestly, I'm completely afraid to see what you could do with that in Photoshop though...

Thankee. We had a good time. I know this is mainly a serious thread, but I thought a little injection of humor would be nice.

I have a series of panoramics I created, but they are very wide and I dont wanna post them (or one) up till I get an OK.

C'mon, you have got to put them up, but can you also include a how to guide for those of us who have no idea how to do that?

Plus, I don't think it's serious, I just haven't had time to post any pictures of my ass yet... Still waiting on that wide angle lens... wait, I'm not that wide... What are you trying to say here?

-Jeremy

I can't correct any of these until I get access to my server again. :badputer:

But here's a couple. The seems on the first need work, but the ship one is clean.

And to answer your question, under File>Automate>Photomerge.

A little tweaking there, and then you have something beggining to be passable.

Lots of work needing done though.

On Wed. I'm driving to New York over a week and flying back. I'm getting my d50 in a couple of days and I'll probably have thousands of photos, being that I'll be going with a friend of mine who's a professional photographer. Can't wait to post some of my photos, be forewarned: there will be tons.

That's what makes it fun, though.

Rapier, those are amazing. Do you just lock the camera down and pan? Really amazing images, I'm super impressed.

i have the d50. when i got it at ritz, they had 3 different lens options. there was also an 18-50 i think that was $100 more... i got the cheaper one beacause they were all slow. i want to spend my cash on some fast primes.

my cc is standard stuff (unsharp mask, curves, selective color, etc. the caterpillar shot was all the d50. i only sharpened slightly and corrected the green in the background.

I just held it verticle, and just snap away, guessing. Then with aproper crop, it looks ok.

Got luck, but there are shots where the colors are off because the camera was on auto and the iris got messed up.

Hey man can we use this as the backdrop for the title shot of our Horrorfest entry? You know, our entry titled "Merry Axe-mass"?

Mark my words... within 2 weeks I'll have a D50 plus lens... maybe within 10 days.

do you guys shoot raw or jpg? i'm kind of scared of jpg but i did test shots today and they look pretty darn good.
I have been shooting everything in Large (3,008 x 2,000) and in jpg format. On my 1 gig card this gives me 236 shots.

Great shot. I just hope "lizard" isn't a euphemism. :)

Heh, it's not. Thre are TONS of little lizard/geko guys down there. I used to catch em when I lived in Cape Canaveral, and it's always a kick to see em on the trees and whatnot.

have you run into any issues with the compression? i'm only worried that if i do some extreme sharpening or contrast for effect, the jpg comp will show it's ugly face....

it would double my memory capacity though.

what do you think?
