Cosmetic Condition: Excellent
Functional Issues/Problems: None
Auction Includes the following: Lens, caps and hood
This No Reserve Auction is for a Nikon Nikkor AF ED 80-200mm 2.8 D Lens. It is in Excellent condition! The glass is scratch free and clear! The barrel shows light scratches and scuffs. The mount shows wear and brassing. Filter size is 77mm. Serial Number: 405655. Please note: this is the older one-ring, push/pull design of the lens i.e. you push up or pull down on the barrel's focus ring to change focal range (the lens itself does not extend or grow in length which is nice). The following reviews has the two-ring design which has the focus and zoom separated into it's own ring. But it is essentially still the same lens - same name and same optics.
KenRockwell.com raves "this is the best buy in 80-200 f/2.8 zooms going."
Photozone.com: "The build quality of the lens is highly impressive - a true professional grade lens. . . The Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8D ED is a great lens both mechanically as well as optically . . . The resolution is on a very high level throughout the zoom range and neither distortions nor vignetting are big issues . . . CAs can be visible at times but the problem isn't overly pronounced. It is a joy to use this lens and the relatively large aperture provides some creative potential in the convenient package of a zoom."
