l have some canon fd lens to my gh1 which are great. Now i want to try some nikon lens which nikon lenses are suitable to gh1 (manual)

Any of the old F lenses will work. You just need to get an adapter. I have the one from Ciecio7 (eBay name), and it works great.

My 28mm Nikkor rarely leaves the GH1.

so the name of the nikon lens are F? what about nikkor? is that a nikon f lens? culd someone help me to mak a "list" of sutiable nikon lenses?

@Martti- If you're ever in the American south, please hit me up because I want to have a beer with you! As usual, your post has left me either schooled, laughing hysterically, or both. Let me Google that for you!

@ingoandfloyd- As Martti's link shows, "F" is the Nikon mount I was talking about. Old Nikkors used that mount and as you see Nikon still uses one that is based on that mount. So yes old Nikkors like Nikkor-S or Nikkor-O or the budget-minded Nikon branded lenses will work. Just make sure it's truly an old F mount with manual aperture control or you'll have to get a different, more expensive adapter. Make sense?

Here's a link for a list (seems pretty complete...) of Nikon lenses.

http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/specs.html

And another site:

http://www.nikonians.org/nikon/slr-lens.html

But the main thing is, avoid the G lenses, as they do not have a manual aperture ring, and so, require a camera/adapter that allows the camera to control the aperture.

There are also some warnings about 'really old' F mount Nikon lenses, and slight changes to the design. But the F lens mount has been in use by Nikon for 50 years...
