My Nikon 17-55 zoom lens is stuck on the Mtf Nikon adaptor. How can I get it out? Any suggestion? Please help.
I was on a beach two days ago everything work fine. Today when I put the lens on, I have to push it a bit harder, I didn't bother to have a second thought. When we wrapped. I found out I couldn't take the lens off. It stuck, the release button doesn't seem to work.

Here is the adapter I have.

Thanks

A mistake I've made (more than once) is to push the release button in the wrong direction. Are you pushing "in", when you should be pushing "down"?

I wish it was that easy Ken. It is not that. I double checked.
The release button, the small metal piece could freely moving up and down but the spring part does not seem to engage the metal piece like it used to.

Same thing happened to me with a cheap adaptor, what has happened is the locking pin release has probably been bent so you will not get the lens adaptor off..
The only way is to destroy the adaptor by prizing it away from the lens base using pliers, screw drivers etc.. I got my off with out damaging the lens..
2 weeks later same thing happened so I have just left the adaptor fixed to the lens as I only use the lens for M43 cameras...

MTF is no cheap adaptor, pin didn't bent. I emailed MTF about the issue, got a brand new replacement adapter in the mail and instruction about how to get it off.

Here is what Mike from MTF said:
There was an issue with some of the early batches where the release tab became loose from the pin.
If you do have a faulty pin, then to get your lens off, you will need to insert a flat blade screwdriver between the top of the tab and the underside of the mount in order to push the pin down.

Yup, the release tab became loose from the pin, took me a while to get the lens off. I had someone to help me unscrew the lens from the adapter while I was holding the pin down with two flat blade screwdrivers. The new adapter is much better, more tight fit with the lens and camera. Thanks for the comments guys and Mike from MTF.
