Nikon is making the 1920 x 1080 jump!

Another spec I'm wondering about: 10 fps continuous shooting. How long can you shoot continuously? Until the buffer fills up, or is the processing fast enough now for 10 fps until the card is full? Could the period be extended if a smaller frame size were chosen?

it is an OLD news. I already sold my all nikon and lenses. Bought 550d (T2i)... hm.... I get what I want, full manual video... BUT to tell the thrue, nikon has better ergonomy, built quality, still pictures have better color even if they are just 12MP .... so canon is NOT BAD at all and the VIDEO support is realy great but when nikon will have the same video support I will go back , sure.

Amen to that XCM. I shoot stills with the Nikon D300 and have a lot of Nikon glass and somehow I prefer Nikon cams to Canon cams. I have the Canon 7D and am hoping for Nikon to improve some things that I don't like about the 7D (12 minute recording limit, fixed LCD screen). So I am really hoping for this Nikon DSLR filming killer cam!

in two years all the bodies will have much the same features, the thing that will matter most then is the glass you have invested in.

nikon always gets the rap as being limited to 12 MP but the D3x with 24.5 MP has been out for 2 years with more MP then the 1Ds or 5D. But high MP count means nothing if the lenses aren't up to job.

The Nikon ergonomics are a lot better.

Yea I know now:) I didnt change my gear because of ergonoics, I changed because of VIDEO and manual control. and I am satisfied.

Given this, wasn't it a bit premature of you to ditch your Nikkors?

Well, I was waiting for until I could, but be realistic, I dont think there will be on market D400 or D90 replacement in May, and I realy need in May, June and Sept for my movie. Maybe D90 replacement will be in Sept, but who knows. D400 just will be in the next year, I am not intested in FF (D900 or D800) and 550d (T2i) cheap enough to try canon.
