Nikon G Lens to EF adapter

Adapters which allow G lenses to be used on 5D2 with full aperture control are starting to appear on ebay.

Has any one tried these and would like to share experience on whether they are quality built units?

i purchased one on ebay for $100 shipped.

The only applicable lens I own is the Tokina 11-16. I used to use a little paper-clip to roughly hold open the aperture when using it on my t2i.

I had spoken to my friend who had purchased the expensive ($250) G lens adapter and he really enjoyed it. Since it dropped in price and I was considering selling my 11 - 16 and getting the canon mount which I would lose more than $100 on, I figured, why not pick one up.

It is GREAT!

I can smoothly and easily change my aperture, it is ergonomically set up so the dial is next to the lens where your hand would be to manipulate focus or zoom. It actually makes it smoother and less annoying to change the aperture than if it were a canon mount, instead of going into the menus and using an annoying dial on the camera it's a smooth zoom-ring-like motion to change my aperture. Sure I don't technically know what my exact aperture is, but as long as my exposure is working and my depth of field is what i'm after then it's all good.

For $100 its not much of an expense and it gives you access to some great glass without compromising anything.

Hope that helps!
