FS7: Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount AF Lens Smart Adapter

Trying to convince a fellow shooter to adopt the FS7, but he's heavily invested in Nikkors, so wonder if anyone has used Commlite's Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount AF Lens Smart Adapter on the FS7?

Appears B&H sells it as Vello's Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Auto Lens Adapter (Version 4). It's listed as a new product, & seems to be an upgrade from their original offering(s).

Vello has a compatibility chart for Sony mirrorless stills cameras, but not for the FS7.

So your friend is one of those backwards focusers. ( Not that there is anything wrong with that. )

He can always go Novoflex route: will give him full manual control. Even though throw is short it's buttery smooth and will basically give him cheapo cine lenses from all what he owns.

I have an Optitex Nikon to FZ mount for my main camera which is rock solid, but the aperture lever is directly linked to the ring, so a small range of movement. Still markedly better than the mechanism I have on an MTF Nikon to FZ adapter.

For B-camera FS7 use I have both Speed Booster and non Speed Booster Nikon to E mounts from Metabones, which uses a linkage system so the aperture ring smoothly turns through a decently broad and well-marked range. Honestly, I haven't tried a more satisfying adapter. Being Nikon mount no messing with electronics (cough Canon) just a nice, simple, smooth spring tensioned mechanical movement. I'm happy with my Optitex and it is built like a tank, but I do get jealous of the B-camera's aperture ring. ;-)

Lastly, my brain has got used to bouncing between Nikon and other focus directions (Nikon does have logic - push away distant, pull towards close), but almost all of my stills lenses are now Sigmas which focus the conventional way,

Thanks for the feedback.

This friend is a ASC cameraman who's most comfortable with cine lenses, but uses Nikons for stills, & doesn't seem bothered by the focus direction. He's used Novoflex adapters on other cameras, but doesn't like not knowing the exact aperture, & would like access to Image Stabilization.

Damn I guess I'm out of date. I wished for this for a long timing and no one made one. Then I sold all my Nikon lenses. However it still looks like it might be limited. I don't see the 80-200 or the 28-70 on here though the 17-35 and the 17-55 are as well as the 70-200. Unfortunately they have removed the manual iris adjustment that was on most previous Nikon adapters and that was the advantage to using Nikon over Canon glass.
Does anyone know if the iris changes are smooth or step with this adapter? I guess the other question is does it work on an FS7 ?
