Hi you asked for product improvement suggestions.

My suggestion is about the incomplete video functionality on these cameras (which could be fixed with a software upgrade) and it is holding me back on upgrading to these cameras.

▪ Frame Rates for D7000
29.97 / 25 / 23.976 fps: STANDARD 30/25/24p video modes
▪ On-screen audio meters
▪ Manual gain control with no AGC
▪ Zebra stripes (video peaking)
▪ Custom Cropmarks for 16:9, 2.35:1, 4:3 and any other format in live view
▪ Ability to have full manual control of Aperture, Shutter, Iso during live view
▪ Ability to have limits of Aperture, Shutter, Iso during priority modes
▪ a live view mode to show what the exposure looks like before recording.
▪ Exposure Meter in live view
▪ Histogram in live view
▪ All of the above features to be available when recording and in live view
▪ over 20 minutes recording
▪ 1:1 Crop Sensor Video mode

I would pay extra for all of these features as it makes the difference of having to buy video camera (and we talking about expensive £800+) and DSLR or just a DSLR which is great for me and you

I think a great deal of others want this and I will be asking them to post similar requests as well to the prove that it is general wanted

Regards,
Marc Holmes

good, i just filled the form too:

Hi, please include these video features on your cameras:
- 30, 25, 24p recording modes
- 50/60p for high speed
- 3:2 video aspect ratio at full resolution (in the same way there is a 640x480 there should be a 1920x1440)
- increase the video bit rate from 25 to 50 Mbits
- histogram in live view
- audio monitoring
- active D-lighting in video clips
- full manual control on video mode (including aperture)
- articulated LCD screen

All these features (except the LCD) could be quite easy to implement via firmware on the D7000 and D5000. Any future camera (D4, D800) should include these specs as stardard.

Thanks

mine was:

- better water sealing
- make an SB 1200
- make an 8mm 2.8 super wide prime with nano coat
- bring back the aperture ring
- better sealed LCD protector or gorrila glass LCD (dust finds its way in between and damages the glass)
- index finger ISO button
- 422 video codec, kill the moire and aliasing

Good list, MacGregor. But 640x480 and 1920x1440 are 4:3, which is taller than the standard 3:2 used for stills.

Just submitted mine.

1. Ability to have full manual control of Aperture
2. 50/60p for high speed at 1280 x 720
3. On-screen audio meters
4. Exposure meter in live view
5. Histogram in live view

they got back to me saying they´ll pass the request to the product developing section. The more pople fills this form, the better.
