I can sell my nikon d90 for $800. I have someone who wants to buy it immediately. Now I have an EX1R and would like something to compliment it. Should I opt for the d7000 or a canon 7d? Please advise.

Thanks everyone!

I say GH2. Cheaper, efficient, total control over anything with filmmaking. Will be hackable in the future to go even further with video abilities.

I have an EX1 and D7000.

Although I LOVE the D7000, there are still some limitations with video. I miss an articulating screen and more advanced audio level controls. The camera is capable of outstanding video, but there are a lot of workarounds (which I am still learning). I shot something today with the D7000 and was unhappy with the results, so I went back and shot it with the EX1. The EX1 is always rock solid.

I haven't tried a 7D or a GH2.

I'd say skip the 7D(unless you really want a great stills camera) and get the D7000 (great stills camera anyway for less) or a GH2 or 60D.(the 60D is better for video out of the box than a 7D with it's screen, audio controls and apparently less chance of overheating)

I've had good experience with the Canon 7d as You should look into the new revised Product name so i would suggest you that you can definitely upgrade your camera from to Canon 7d camera. The 7D is a great camera and is a clear improvement over the 40D. In some respects. This camera has superb Build Quality. The viewfinder is huge and bright and has 100% coverage. There are various Picture Styles you can choose to alter the contrast, sharpness, color tone, and saturation of the photos.
