Nikon D90 Samurai Cowboy test shots

Aha grown ups and their toys. It's amazing how these days, our mobile phones can take better quality images than Kurosawa's early b/w degraded films.

I would suggest to be careful of the sides of the frames. Maybe key them out or re-frame as the compositions look too busy with the trees in the way of the sillhouettes.

Small green spockled uneven lens flair doesn't work here, needs to be more defined and strongly prominant if you have it in.

Also the depth of field needs to be greater for this kind of work. Too many times it looks soft and parts of the frame are out of focus. Silhouettes have to be pin sharp, otherwise it brings attention to the fuzz.

Thanks for the input.. You did notice this was just a test shoot.. the framing kind of sucked because I only had a small section to work with... There were poerlines everywhere and houses to keep out of the shots..

I just ran and shot for five minutes while the sun was wetting...

I actually kind of liked the soft focus on the shadows.. I think I only got two shots that were sharp... I am bringinh a field monitor out next time.. The nikon is hard to focus with only using the lcd. even with the zoom in feature...
