I took the leap into the DSLR pool and discovered there was a recent time when DSLRs only sent an interlaced signal through HDMI (even at 24p) requiring you to remove pulldown in post or through your external recorder like the Ninja 2. The new Nikon D810 streams a progressive signal through the HDMI port. See page 270 in the Nikon D810 manual page which indicates this.
