Nikon D800 Video Glitch

So I hired a Nikon D800 to use as a primary camera (used my D600 too) on a shoot today. I've just been reviewing the footage and all was looking fine until I started noticing what look like codec glitches as per the images below. Single frame only, but has ruined these two shots (and possibly more, haven't reviewed all the footage yet)

Has anyone else seen this happen before? Is it just the sensor overheating or is it the sign of a faulty camera or faulty CF card (both provided by the gear hire place)?

Very odd. Have not seen or heard of this before. I have had several successful shoots with my D800.

I would test the card first.

I would also test the transfer method you used to ingest the footage. I started having similar issues with still photos off my old D3 when I would try and import one way...I started to import using a different method and never had an issue after that. So, if you still have the card with the footage on it, give that a try as well.

I have seen similar horizontal anomalies spanning several frames with one of my VR lenses. Went away when I turned VR off.

Looking at those framegrabs, it seems you had data corruption somewhere in the chain. It's -probably- either the camera, the card, the card reader, the usb port, or the HDD. If that is the case and you don't have the original files in the card, you're in a very bad position. If you still have the card as it came out of the camera, you can try to change the card reader or the PC and see if you get rid of the issue.
I've had this issue for a long time, and in the end I had to rebuild my PC around a new motherboard, the old one was defective and was causing the data corruption. While I had the problem, I used the "fc" command from the terminal in Windows to check that files had been copied without bits being changed randomly.
