Nikon d7100 and FRAME rate

Hola guys,

i was tryng the d7100 with 25fps in 1080, in the plasma the movements looks a little bit jerky...If i set the 1080 50 i frame rate enabling the 1,3X crop from the menu will i see a decrease on the quality of the video?

i is awful, a thing that should have died 10 years ago but for some reason is still around

now, regarding the problem with motion at 25 fps, my first guess would be that the video player is struggling with the capture codec (so it won't be an issue after your edit the footage and export in a more player-friendly codec; you can check if this is the problem by uploading the clip to youtube and watching it there), the second guess would be that you are sitting too close to the screen and not comparing to how the stuff you usually like looks like under those conditions (so, open some movie trailer in youtube and compare)

also: embrace the slow-fps strobe
 
Also: are you using 180º shutter? If you have your shutter set to, say 1/400s, it will strobe more than normal.
 
Well, with those settings it should be OK

Upload to YT and compare with something you already know you like (e.g. a trailer from a movie)
