Nikon D610 good enough for video?

I am a videographer with the panasonic gh4. I am getting into photography and want my first dslr that is full frame for stills. I need it to be able to work as a b camera for some shoots with my gh4. So does the Nikon D610 have good enough video features for this? Would the canon 6d be better/worse or about the same?

Is there anything wrong with the 610 video where i would really need to upgrade to the 750 or d800?

thanks for the help, i assumed they would all have moire except the 5d miii. The 6d is sharp enough to match my gh4 so i was hoping the d610 could do the same. I didnt know there was no flat profile or zebras but i can normally judge without them since i only use the b camera in well lit controlled environments.

D610 is far from ideal for video because of the aliasing/moire thing.
D750 and D810 are basically clean of aliasing/moire. Same as D5200, D5300, D5500, D7100, D7200, by the way (though these APS-C Nikons are as soft as the 5D3, whereas the D750 and D810 are a lot sharper) (not sure about D7200 sharpness, though I wouldn't expect it to be better than the previous ones).

The D5300, D5500, D7200 do not utilize optical low-pass filters, which makes them noticeably sharper for still photo work. No idea if the same is true for video.

The OLPF is designed for 24 Mpix stills and has no effect on video. The D7100 and D5200 were basically identical.

From slashcam.de:

And just so it doesn't feel like we're pushing the thread (completely) off-topic... D600 (AFAIK, identical to D610 in video mode):

Long-time 5d3 shooter here, been shooting with a D750 (along with a NX1) lately. I haven't been able to generate any significant aliasing/moire in day-to-day work with the D750 (and I shoot home exteriors where shingles, roof tiles and brick exteriors generate tons of aliasing and moire) and its sharper than the 5d3 SOOC. Its impressive. The flat profile is really easy to work with and produces great results.

Thanks, i shoot with a panasonic GH4 and comparing it in a 2 camera shoot with the canon 6d it actually isnt much sharper, the 6d holds up really well even when downscaling 4k footage from the gh4.

I am keeping my gh4 for video and selling my GH3 for a full frame photography camera since photography is something I love. I just want the camera to work as a b-cam to the gh4. I know the 6d will work but like nikon better for photography. I guess i'll need to upgrade my plan to the d750 over the 610. Thanks for the help guys.

D750 video is much better than the 6d. Don't know what magic Nikon worked with its new processor and the codec, but DR looks really good with the internal using the flat profile. It has me questioning my standing with Canon - especially since the cinema line is the only way to get the c-log and the better video codec.

Good call. I just bought a d750 too. A great camera. Definitely worth spending a little more over the D610.
