Nikon D5100

Nikon Rumors is saying that the D5100 will be announced in the next 36 hours.

It is supposed to have an articulating screen like the 60D/GH2, not like the D5000, 11 AF points,
hopefully the D7000's 16.2 MP imager, and 1080P video.
NR.com is pretty good about separating rumors and actual releases/products, esp. when it comes down to hours away from announcement.

This camera sounds like it could be Nikon's go to cam for videocentric purposes as long as it has at least the D7000's level of manual control.
We shall see soon enough....

Will it have the same image processor too? Meaning fake 1080p, aliasing, moirè...

Unfortunately......I'm sure it will.
The first APS-C/DX/Full frame/FX DLSR to get rid of it(aliasing + moire) will be on back order for 1 year straight....just look at the GH2.
If the D400, 5DMK3, can do anything close to the Panny's ability to minimize these effects they're going to be hot numbers.

I agree with John - In this price range you have limited choices for 35mm(or there abouts) style video - Either figure a way to shoot and avoid the issues, or don't shoot them at all. Problem is...the only other cameras in the VDSLR price range have DEEP focus. They do a lot well, but they don't have the "look" of the VDSLR.
In the general DSLR discussion forum we were all just reminded what could be accomplished with a D90 and some skill.....and the D7000 is miles ahead of the D90(video wise). The D5100 should be as well.
We also have to keep in mind - These are still cameras first, and very good ones.

After seeing how good the D7000 is I can't wait to see what the D400 and D800 are going be like.

Yeah...it's Nikon's turn. Everybody was too worried about their remaining static with video. There was a good reason for that- They were at the beginning or middle of many of their products cycles when they put video in them -
D90 - 1st gen video
D5000 1st gen video
D300s...minor upgrade to the D300 - 1st gen video

D3100- 2nd Gen O.K. This one had me worried (jello still very present, no meaningful manual control)
D7000 - 2nd Gen Video looks pretty fantastic to my eyes.
D5100- 2nd Gen We'll see...but it's promising, (as long as it has the D7000's level of manual control) because it has a high res. articulating screen, and some other nice stuff.
