Doesn't look like much in terms of video. At least that I can see. Just 1080p 30fps. Along with a strange 1200fps 320x120 mode. Why Nikon?
Plus an attachable stereo microphone for an additional $180.

If that's all that is coming from the whole iamcoming thing, I have to say I am disappointed, but it makes it easier for me to decide what not to get next.

on first glance it sure seems like they missed the target again.

I never have understood why these companies don't give you the option to shoot whatever frame rate you'd like? 60p, 60i, 50p, 50i, 30p, 25p, 24p. It can't be hard can it? It surely can't add much at all to the cost.

One thing that caught my eyes was this spec below.

Movie Mode (16:9 aspect ratio)
3,840 x 2,160 (1080/60i)
1,920 x 1,080 (1080/30p)
1,280 x 720 (720/60p)

3840 x 2160 at 60i? Is it a misprint on their site?

Exactly....talk about NFI. Nikon (something that begins with "F") Idiots.

I have to admit, the indie filmmaker/pro video guy in me doesn't understand this camera from a specs perspective. However the gadget geek in me actually thinks it's kinda cool. Especially with the 10-100mm powered zoom. I could see this being a great little home video camera. From that perspective, the only thing it's really missing is a flip out lcd screen. Just for fun they should have added 24p. Even if only for those kids that borrow their parents camera to make movies.

Just my opinion, but this looks like it is a good competitor to a Panasonic that is two models old right now. Think the 1 Series vs. a GF1.

Again, my opinion, but I'd buy a G3 before one of these, and that would be without any hesitation.

Even a NEX-7 or a77 looks better to me.
I will wait for the D400 or D800.

The V1 is out now and the reviews look very good, but
I tried using a demo of the latest version of NEX-5 which may actually be better than the NEX-7 but basically it was too small for me to hold steady.
I will just have to hope that some of the technology finds it's way into a DSLR at least the size of a D5100.
