NIKON AF 50mm f/1.8D Lens Auctions Ebay. Hong Kong sellers, knockoffs???

I am out on Ebay and looking for the Nikon F1.8 50mm D Lens. There seems to be a ton of sellers out of Hong Kong who have the best prices. Where others talk about the Nikon International Warranty, most of these sellers omit the Nikon and IInternational reference in their warranty discussion. I have seen two different style boxes, one uses the Nikkor name and one the Nikon logo.

Needless to say, something seems "amiss" here, and SCAM and KNOCKOFF are the first things to come to mind.

Any experiences with these, are they and the lenses authentic and legit ???

I was all set to get one from Amazon, when their prices went up in the last two days. Amazon went from $119 to $135 and these Hong Kong sellers are down in that $119 range.
 
are you looking for something specific like autofocus? I see older nikkor 50mm 1.8s going BIN on ebay for much less than 120$.

It's hard to say whether those others are legit. Even if they were and you had a problem, shipping it back would be expensive. Best you can do is ask specific questions and ask for pictures. if they at least can't/won't do that for you then I wouldn't buy the lens.
 
Here's what I am looking for, and why. I am a total lens newb and have been told the Nikon f1.8 is supposed to be a good lens. The prices I have seen on "Like New" lenses has come close to what a new one costs. So if I never do get the hang of manual focus and a non Panny lens, I know my total cost to try, won't be that bad. My "up front cost" and then "possible loss if I resell" is worth it to see.
