Nikon Adapters

I've seen a good variety of adapters for Nikon lenses on e-bay. Are some better than others? I've done a search here but clearly I didn't get the search terms right because I did not find what I am looking for.

One adapter I noticed had an 'On/Off' switch. I asked the seller what this was for and he said it had 'something to do with aperture control' but other than that had no idea.

I have a mixture of Nikon glass that would be good to use with a GH1 (I just ordered one - should be here tomorrow), so getting the right adapter is pretty important.

Some of the glass has manual aperture controls while other don't (e.g. 14-24). Can the 14-24 be used at all? If I hook it up using one of the adapters does it go wide open or max closed by default.

I'm also looking at a Canon FD adapter too... there seems to be some reasonable FD bargains around - but I want to play with the GH1 and Nikon 50/1.8 before investing too much more.

I got a nikon adapter from rainbowimage on ebay. Costs $45 and has the aperture ring, works great with my 3 lens.

I bought Fotodiox from Amazon for my Nikons. Seems to work great so far.

No aperature ring though. Hence any lens w/o aperature ring is stuck either full open or closed.
