I posted this a little while ago (about 3 weeks) but went back and realized that the pictures I took of the lens were less than flattering.

So here is an updated post with better pictures and an example gallery.

As per the title, I am selling a Nikon 85mm f/1.8 series H (the latest series made of the 1.8 version before they switched to the f/2). The sale includes the lens, back and front caps, a hood, protective UV filter (that is not in the best of condition, the glass rotates, but it still does its job), and (if wanted) a EOS adaptor and back cap.

This is a fantastic little lens and would make an excellent first foray into old glass. It was my first piece of vintage glass and I have now transitioned to almost all old Nikon lenses. I recently bought a Nikon Standard Speed prime set that came with an 85 f/2 with the aperture ring declicked (for video work), which is why I am selling this 85 1.8.

Here is some pictures of the lens: http://jpmphotovideo.com/85Pics/
and here are some example pictures with it: http://jpmphotovideo.com/85/

I am looking for $180 shipped and paypaled O.B.O.

If only you could hang onto this for another two months for me after I get back from school and have a chance to pick up my job again. I would snatch this puppy up in a heartbeat

85mm-H vs 85mm-K

85mm-H vs 85mm-K

At the rate this sale it going it may be this long.....

The "K" version (on the left in thses photos) was the last version of this great lens...this particular copy was AI'd with the Nikon OEM aperture ring...neither version was ever made with an AI or AIS mount...though the "K" version was I believe sold with the AI adapter, as an "optional accessory" ... though I don't know if it was supplied with the lens or offered as an after-sale accessory...

Anyway...I thought you might like to know that the "H" was not the last version...actually there was an additional version that came out between the "H" and the "K"...it was the "H-C", the "C" indicating a new multicoating...you can see the difference in coating in the second photo...

I used the "H" version for many years back in the 1960s and 70s...for sports shooting in dim gyms...a great lens that I had sold for the 85/F2...and now have re-bought after 30 years...

....first the "H" you see here with holes drilled for a stem to be attached to the focusing ring so it could be rotated by a 3rd hand during a video tracking shot....
....and then the "K" because it had been AI-modified ...
