Nikon 50mm f1.2

Not great wide open but that's the case with most lenses. At 1.8 there is probably little difference.

It's a great little lens but if you're using an FF you don't have much room from the focus ring to the mattebox so be carefule with how much space you need. Other than that it's one of my favorties and a great image for the $$$.

I would save a couple bucks and get the 1.4... The 1.2 is the sharpest 50mm nikon lens at f/2, but I doubt you are going to really see the difference compared to the f/1.4 on the AF100 @ f/2. I have the 50mm f/1.4 and it is great at f/2, and it is much less expensive (you could almost buy another lens with the savings), but if you have the extra money, it is a great lens, just dont expect it to be great at f/1.2. If you want a nikon to shoot wide open at f/1.2, you want the 58mm f/1.2 NOCT which was designed for wide open and low light shooting, but all the other manual nikons really need to be shot at least f/2 to really get the best image out of them.

truly stunning lens that never fails to amaze me for it's price. i paid $350 a few years ago on ebay. Depends on your application, i use it in fashion/beauty along with a 85mm 1.2. Had mine declicked so often have no idea what i'm shooting at in doc/behind scenes run gun often with Varin ND.
Never produces a bad image.

since your shooting HD (not 4k), at 1.2 its a bit hazy (hardly noticeable) but its really good .
i have it, i use it all the time.
most used lens and it paid itself back ten folds. highly recommend it. would you believe i got it for 200 bucks
has longer focus throw than a 1.4, bigger barrel. means precise focusing
love love love this lens
