Nikon 35 mm f2 Auto Focus

Hi, does anyone know how this lens will work on the AF100. I know it will not be AF because it does not have the electronics, but I want to make sure that I can focus manually. I orignally was looking at the 35mm f1.4 MF and the 35mm f2 MF, but in Ken Rockwell's reviews he states that you should pass on the MF and get the F2 AF lens as this lens although a bit plasticy is far superior optically to the MF lens. Any input is appreciated. Thks.

I have a couple of the plasticy ones. The images are great. No problem there. The only difference for me is the throw of the lens. The AF lenses have a shorter throw so using a follow focus is not as good because your focus marks are closer and sometimes can be harder to land. I think Ken Rockwell likes optics on the AF better. I can't really comment on that but operationally, I find the MF lenses a little easier to use. I still use both though.

I agree with hscully. I've got a few AF Nikkors and really dislike the short throw of the focus ring plus AF lenses lack the tactile feel and slight resistance of a manually focused lens.
