Somebody use Nikkor 28-200 mm D Lens for video with D90? i thinking to buy one becouse of the manual aparture ring...
It wolud be good if somebody who has experience with this lens share observations with us:)

I'm assuming that you want some sort of manual control with that lens. If so then the answer is no. Even though it has a manual aperture ring, you will not be able to control the aperture since it is a "D" lens and the D90 will choose the appropriate aperture automatically. The aperture ring needs to be locked in on f/22 in order for the camera to respond in video mode.

If you want manual control over the aperture, you will need a manual AI or AIS lens instead. But to answer your question, the lens you mentioned above will work in video but only in auto mode.

i dont see why not.

i use my sigma 24-60 this way all the time.

there's a lock for the aperture ring but you don't have to use it.

just understand that when you zoom there will be a small loss of light.

pls nikkorray read the first topic!
u can use D lenses with manual aparture ring, it just say error while u twist the ring, but its working.
My first question wasn't about the "compatibility". I forgot to write down that 28-200 3.5-5.6. D. So i ask again:) Can i do the ISO trick with a 3.5-5.6 D lens? or it only work with 2.8 or down?
