Nightvision with DVXB

I'm a proud owner of a new dvxb. It's like Christmas all over again. Can't wiat to learn all that it can do. I'm going to order Barry's book as soon as we set up a paypal account. But my first priority is night vision. Just going though the manual and menu now and not sure how to work it. But I need it for tonight because I have these odd myclonic seizures that don't hurt but most doctors just poo poo. If I have a good DVD of what I endure they might pay a bit more attention with a bit more compassion. Can I enhance the detail of night vision in Final Cut Pro Express. What should I set the camera at. Please help. My wife is worried.

Pants loads full of thanks,

R.N.

You could set the shutterspeed to 1/3, 1/6 or 1/12, and bring the green up in post to simulate the nightvision look.

TO give a difinitive answer the DVX does not have night vision. Can you sleep with lights?

But what if you added infrared lights? A lot of CCDs are infrared sensitive, are they not? I guess it might be something to be tested.

I've tested it thoroughly... it 'aint happening in the DVX. Not even close. I've got various IR devices and the DVX actually sees them as faint red lights... which tells us that the CCDs are no where near the needed IR range for nightvision.

A cheap sony handicam with nightvision would do the trick. Then get some kind of IR emitter that runs off a wall-wart (ac power) and that will do the trick. You can buy an emitter from a CCTV cam supplier, or even on ebay. Total cost for all this should only run you a few hundred.
