So what's wrong with my settings or is it just lack of light? (Scrubbing the clip really brings it out)

Thanks for your help. I'll be doing a lot of this style and want to nail it.

Thats crazy how fast you checked it. I posted..found the link was dead..and fixed it. Hope you make it back to comment.

That's exactly what it was. I've recently used 1/60th on a night shoot and it seemed a little better.

So basically I just need more light.

Yeah man, when we set up at night to shoot rails we have 5-1000w lightstands that we use always... So try more lights and faster shutter will fix it.

"Light 'em up Genny!"

Sounds like I need to invest in a generator.
Thanks trentp.

keep your shutter at 1/24th if you in really dark situations, otherwise anything slower will strobe since you are going at 24fps.
You could invest in a generator, or keep the settings you are at now, just raise the shutter by one notch and then adjust brightness in post ( yes it will be more grainy ) but from what it looks like you aren't planning on shooting narratives in the dark, just skate stuff.

a few work lights might come in handy.

Thanks for the knowledge.

So for a dark narrative (future scene lighting) I'd flood 'em with light and stop it down to get a lowlight look.

If I've said it a thousand times I'll say it a thousand more. I love this site.
