GH4 Nifty little bit: Tally triggering with AF100 S/S remotes works!

OK, maybe this is new to nobody, but I figured if I was clueless enough to not know for quite a while, maybe others could benefit from my slightly reduced ignorance...

You know that "remote" port on the handle side of the GH4? It accepts and respond to simple stop/start triggers like the remote trigger I have on my AF100 handle. I can use that handle on both cameras, or something like Olof's wooden handle if I had one, or any other similar easy-to-fabricate trigger.

Again, maybe news to exactly nobody, but I was pretty tickled.

Ha, just yesterday learned that myself. Just returned back to Ecuador from the States and thought I'd mule my Olof's wooden handle down here not knowing if it works. Happy to report is does although not sure when I'd ever use it. I like the G4's size without adding a bunch of accessories.

When my GH4's get all dressed up, which is rare, they sport a triggered wood handgrip, & sphere.

It also works with the zoom function of the 45-175 zoom.
