Nice uprezzed footage

looks good. what was your process for the up-res? we may have to up-res some dvx footage to match our 150 shots.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro to export it as a .avi file with no compression, 1050x576 (that's PAL though, don't know NTSC pixels) and square pixels, highest quality.

Then I use quicktime pro to export it with the h.264 codec to 1280x720 pixels.

That's it

Nice footage dude. So if you export to 1050x576 instead of generic DV 720x576 size does that give you a crisper .mov file after you encode in QT? I know it would greatly increase file size of the .avi but i'm interested whether that would give you more quality in the resulting quicktime file?

Also which do you think gives the greatest HD viewing quality between Vimeo & Youtube HD?

Hehe, I'm not really 100% sure. But this way I get real widescreen and not letter box.

I think the h.264 should have a lot of the glory though.. it is truly an amazing codec..

What were the settings used on the camera when you shot?

Scene file f6

Detail level: -4
Master ped: -8

Framerate: 25p
Shutter: 1/50

Thanks guys!

Very nice footage! I see you also used Magic Bullet?

So did you shoot Squeezed or Standard 4:3?

For FCP I would assume you export your anamorphic 16:9 timeline into QT file with current settings and then go into compressor and export it to a 720p QT. I will try this myself later this week. Never bothered trying it before but this looks awesome. Nice job!
