Nice Text animation / How to archive that?

I would just use the stroke plug-in from AE, create the path to spell the word (over desired font), and motion track it to the shot.

hi,

i think that my problem is on the path..

Here what i do:

1) I write my text on photoshop for example "I love you"
2) In photoshop i go to layer->type->create work path
3) Copy
4) Paste on a new solid in After effects
5) I load 3d stroke on the solid.

I can use now 3d stroke and play with, but all path coming from photoshop is not like i want, because 3d stroke is writting allways on the borders of every letter and i want only one line for each word like hand written.

I hope you understand what i mean. What im doing false? The motion track i will try later..

Can you or somebody help?

I agree that a 2D stroke would suffice for any shots similar to those in the example video. You'd only need to use 3D stroke if the text is very close up, and at an awkward angle to the camera.

You'll need to manually draw the paths so that they run through the 'cores' of the strokes. Just do this in AE; no need to import them from PS.

To do it like they did in the video you'd have to break up the text into layers, one for each “stroke” of the hand. Think about how you'd write out the letters, each time the pen leaves the paper you'd have a new stroke. Now use any kind of reveal you want to track matte reveal the strokes in sequential order like handwriting. I'd use Trapcode 3D Stroke because it's easily animatable and doesn't have a size limit like AE's Write On effect. Animate the offset, start, or end and use that layer as an alpha matte for the text layer.
