I found this wonderful place and thought, wow its beautiful, there's barely any tourists and I had hoped it would stay this way.....then somebody paid me $2000 to help exploit the place and I changed my tune.

My advice is go there quick before tourism destroys the natural beauty and angers the locals. It's nothing like it used to be 2 years ago, that is for sure.
 
Not really, Nicaragua is rated the 2nd safest country in Central America, behind Belize.

I'll hopefully be doing my next film in the most dangerous country in Central America by 2008, in El Salvador
 
great work i must say
but...
man nicaragua has a lot of poverty
which is what the we should be focusing on
i'm in the process of making a nicaragua documentary about what is really happening there.

sure poverty is a big issue there, which is why tourism isn't all bad. I'm trying to promote it as a beautiful tourist destination because poverty turns people off and that stops the money from coming in. The doc looks cool, can't wait to see it. Where did you do most of your filming?
 
oh i completely know what your saying
the organization i'm with deals mainly with the town of Chacraseca and Nuevo Amanecer which we have been working with closely for around 13 years now
it was quite possible the greatest experience i will ever come across and im thankful to be going back again this year.
