NFL Championship Games

Ok, I'll take my lumps. The Broncos are getting smoked! I still am holding out hope for a dynamite second half, but it doesn't look good...

I disagree. Jake is one of the reasons they got there. I'll grant you that he had a bad game, reverting to old (and bad) habits, but there is plenty of blame to go around. They were out coached and outplayed on both sides of the ball.

Ironically, the thing that I thought would work for them (their O-line) is what was most ineffective. Any Quarteback would have been hard pressed to do ANYTHING with that kind of pressure. Peyton Manning is one of the best QB's to play in the NFL in the past decade, and he didn't do any better. Keep Jake. In fact, I wouldn't change much (Except whoever coaches the secondary). This is by far the best team they have had since the Elway years.

Pitt deserved to win, and I'll be rooting for them in 2 weeks.

Not really football related, because everyone has pretty much said anything I would say, but I could have sworn i saw an XL-H1 run by a camera.

I'm probably just going insane, but does anyone know if it's possible they are using them for this game? (Seattle and Carolina, that is.)

Not every camera you see on the field (or elsewhere) is involved in the broadcast of the game. More than likely, it's someone with either the Panthers or the Seahawks organizations.

Ok, so I was a bit rash in writing Jake off. They need a better secondary, no question. They stopped the run, but couldn't stop Big Ben from throwing it all over the field.

I'm not sure how much of it is the players. When you have guys like John Lynch and Champ Bailey, (although most of the big plays were made against guys like Foxworth, who is also pretty good), you have to question the defensive play calling.

And while it's true they were effective against run, they didn't pressure Ben enough, which surprised me. I don't remeber hearing Trevor Pryce's name the whole game.

Next Year.

I think the Hawks want it more.

When they took that reaction shot of the Panthers sideline after the Seahawks first score, they just looked deflated and emotionless. If it weren't for Steve Smith's TD, I think they were about to send up the white flag.
