Next Odyssey 7q/7q+ update

What's on with DNxHD? Or will we get DNxHR? I should spread some rumors i guess... I might have heared DNxHR will be showing up in mid of June 2016... for O7Q and O7Q+. I can't wait for it to happen :)
I guess I can't stop anyone from spreading rumors, but I don't now how helpful that is. We're working on solutions.

a third of a year later, but nothing happen... Why don't you say YES or NO. How professional is it to give no answer. It's almost 2 Years after I bought that device because of it's capability of DNxHD and there is still nothing to see -excapt Mitch saying "it will come". I don't trust it anymore. You announced ten new products meanwhile, but none of them has DnxHD on it's flag. So it makes me think that you don't really want to give afford since you can earn money faster with updates user pay for than a free update. Since all is more or less the same product I bet if you are really planing DNxHD that would have been annonced to all releases. Give us least a timetable. Without deadlines most projects a not effective. Mostly all devices of your competiters have this option installed more or less from the beginning. Here are a lot of Avid postproduction houses around and I feeld like the only one who has to convert manually. Also the DNX performance is better on PC, as you now. I belive in you having trouble because on the .mov topic, but I don't feel like you give that topic priority when I see what the company do also in the same time...Grrrrrrrrr

I too purchased the 7Q on the fact of DNx encoding.

It's number 1 on my list, so much so I've been looking at the BM4K assist...which has so many issues, it's not funny, but if it at least stable to record DNx, it will save me a LOT of time in post.

Honestly, I and others at CD are not happy that it has taken so long for DNx. It's proven far harder for the architecture used within Odyssey than originally thought. We promised Apple ProRes for a long time and then delivered on it, and DNx was supposed to be a natural adaptation of that work. But it turned out we had to essentially start from scratch again on it. We certainly wish it was done already if only so that we could devote the resources to other projects. I can't give you a hard & fast timetable because we keep finding that we don't hit the deadline. Best estimate at this point is to say before the end of 2016, and of course I would like it to be WELL before the end of 2016.

to be honest. I long wished for DNXHD, but seeing its bad performance in Premiere, I'd rather have Cineform implemented. ProRes works much faster in Premiere than DNX. Cineform is outrageously fast.
