Western has a high vote as well but I foresee a lot of issues due to production values; who just happens to have tons of western-like wardrobe lying around or horses, wagons, and old looking towns. I think it'd be costly for anyone to try and pull off a western. Unless you wanted to spend a good chunk of change on production design, story flexibility is going to be pretty low.

Action can be a Western, though. As well as Action/Comedy (Lethal Weapon). But if it's going to be something like RemakeFest, let things be shaken.

Wouldn't be hard for me... as I live 10 min. from Vasquez Rocks! :)

We've got nothing western-like at all over here... I'd have to make some kind of mountainous story ...wait none of those either, maybe a slightly hilly region where two cowboys get lost....

Two cowboys, lost and alone on a mountain....Hmmmmmmmmm........

I know I'm a sick, sick, man ... so will likely succumb to the next festival as well, dangit! If I had a choice, I'd choose musical ... but I went ahead & voted Comedy, as musicals can lend themselves well to that genre, so I could still do what I wanted within a comedy setting.

Otherwise, I'm kind of hoping the next festival choice is WAY outside of anything I'd want to do, so I can focus on other/bigger projects without the added stress of putting together another short. :)

That won't stop him Brandon...it's like a sickness with him. Seriously Norm, I think you need counseling buddy....ok, actually, don't get counseling cause then you won't make these entries, and you are getting really good at them.

While it would be challenging I bet you'd get some really interesting Musicals submitted for "MusicalFest."

I'm reminded of the Triggerstreet winner from a couple of years ago.

"Dog Given Rights"

Shot on a GL2 and...hilarious.

Music, choreography, dancing and dogs.

What more could you want?
Other than a milkbone and a tummy rub?

Okay seriously though... it could work, no I'm just kidding, but for real it would work.

I actually voted for comedy. To me Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Punch Drunk Love, Doctor Strange Love, Fargo are all variations of comedy (dark, slap stick, tragic) and I think it could work for all sorts of ideas weather you wanted it set in the west or on a space ship.

Edit: But, I'd settle for just about anything.:cheesy:
