Are you participating, Blaine?
I'm not sure, yet. It will probably depend on what category it is...or I may do like the current fest and help others with their project. I don't want to commit if I think there is a good chance I'll drop out.

If I do commit, I'll complete...

How about you?

Same deal. Wouldn't want to make a thread or say that I am and then drop out like before. I just get too darned concerned at a certain stage.

That being said-- maybe I will.

Hey Blaine, you should change your name to Ethan... your mission, should you choose to accept it...
For my generation that was Mr. Phelps.

Hey Kholi, are you entering DramaFest? You may have answered this question earlier in the thread, but I just came upon it and am at work, so I don't have time to read all the posts...

Some ideas I've been kicking around for a future fest.

CommercialFest -- 60 second spec commercial--we could pick a product or let people create a fictional product of their choice.

DocFest - -Six minute documentary--your choice of topics

RemakeFest - -Six minute "remake" of the film of your choice.

I still vote for a musical! Who's with me? :cheesy:

I love musicals. Not afraid to say it. But I think it would be the hardest for most of us to pull off. The possibility for a huge cringe factor would be pretty high.

Having said that, it would be fun to give it a go

No, no DramaFest entry for me. Just a viewer, here. Though I might let myself be side-tracked from a third feature re-write if the next fest is Action. Could be the perfect (most forgiving) platform to screw up on.

Great ideas Barry! I think it would be cool to take a breather from the genre films. I like the way you're thinking....it would shake things up a bit.

Western has a high vote as well but I foresee a lot of issues due to production values; who just happens to have tons of western-like wardrobe lying around or horses, wagons, and old looking towns. I think it'd be costly for anyone to try and pull off a western. Unless you wanted to spend a good chunk of change on production design, story flexibility is going to be pretty low.

Yeah, I almost can't say no to that, but only because my wife has done musical theater her entire life. And is pretty darn good, too :) So I'd have an advantage on the musical side, if not with the actual filmmaking, lol!

That's called an "unfair advantage"
