Like the music vid idea. Western isnt exactly doing it for me since I am in Japan. Cowboys riding across the Kanto plain with Fuji as the backdrop?

C'mon now, can't you see a clever little bit playing off of Shanghai Noon? It could be placed in 1932 during the war! Eh? eh?

You're right. bad idea.

To me, some of the older Kurosawa Samurai period films (Yojimbo, Sanjuro in particular) are just like westerns, and Yojimbo has later been remaked by Leone as 'A Fistful of Dollars', filmed in Spain and Italy. So, I think any barren land will do to get the feel of a Western.

btw - Takeshi Miike's new film is called 'Sukiyaki Western Django', and apparently it's being shot in Japan.

comedy and action neck and neck... amazing how the 2 hardest genres to do well is the favorites :)

Seriously!! Of the two, Comedy is probably the harder to pull off than the two.

Also, I think the broad area with a few rules like this Drama-fest had would be better. Not that I'm saying I'd enter... but I love to chime in on the thought of entering. LoL.

Could always do Sci-Fi/Action. Or Sci-Fi/Comedy.

I'm so ready for action . It's why i started making movies in the first place. Of course if it falls on action I will no excuses this time and it's put up or shut up :-)

To make it really interesting, how about no matter what the next fest is, all dialogue must be spoken in a foreign accent.

I have a feeling I might be alone on this suggestion.:)
