Do any of you guys use any NEX lenses?
If so do you have any recommendations for 1080 and 4k use...

ATM - Digital Rev have good prices on the 18-105 and the 55-210

Might be a good resource to callate peoples thoughts on the matter

The 18-105 lens is a dog, if you're bored of straight lines then this lens is for you.

A better lens IMO is the 16-70 F4.

The only other NEX lenses I have is the 18200 from the FS100 which is slow and gets soft on the long end. You buy the 18200 for the focal range not for anything else. The Sigma 19mm is sharp but the build quality is Sigma.

18-105 is a nice lens, the FS7 corrects the cushion problem. Also Samyang 14 mm for wide angle and som old fd lenses or nikkor lenses for tele.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder with lenses. Correct me if I'm wrong the FS7 does not correct distortion in 4K or at HFRs.

Personally, I can't wait to put my Nikkor 43-86 on my FS7.

I've got 18-200. Wanted to sell it so many times but I keep coming back to it. Pros: range, IS, AF, size. Cons: soft, slow, ugly colours, focus by wire. Perfect for just documenting stuff, and where you need to be very fast (no time for swapping lenses). Watch out for a gravity and narrow angles on your fluid head!! (it can zoom in automatically ;)

Also Samyang 14 mm for wide angle and som old fd lenses or nikkor lenses for tele.
+100 for Samyang 14mm. Every time I speak with my friend having this one he sings praises for this lens! Extremely sharp with rich colours. He defines it as one of the best wide angle lenses you can get right now (even in higher price bracket).

Ha for a moment there I didn't think anyone was interested.

I have a set of Nikon Primes along with their 24-70 and 16-35
Just wondered if it might be worth getting a NEX lens to gain some of the benefits mentioned (AF/IS) when it comes to quick turn around jobs.

I'll probably pull the trigger on the dirt cheap £150) 55-210 as I'm lacking at the longer end and if it's a dog then I can always sell it and lose a small sum

More interestingly anyone have any Zeiss E-mount?

The problem with E-mount lenses is that the vast majority seem to feature focus-by-wire focus mechanics, which are virtually useless for anything but fixed focus shots. A better bet is to get manual lenses like the Zeiss ZFs, Nikon AI-S or Rokinons, and combine them with a speedbooster for greater functionality.
