Just to say what a lot of fun I had with this camera and the 18-50 kit lens at my chums wedding

I love just the total lack of effort to shoot with this cam for fun and the ability to move fast and get shots from a lot of cuttable angles..

That's probably one of the best wedding videos shot by a "friend" that I've seen. With a bit of real audio and the right music, you could make good money with your work. If you don't already that is :) . Either way, your "chum" is lucky to have had you there to document the Wedding. Good stuff.
 
Well im an camera operator with a background in stills, never shot a wedding thou

Sure sound design would require a level of effort beyond gift status!

The joy was no professional pressure, he didnt even know I was bringing a camera, neither did I until 5mins before I left

Doing a wedding 'properly' mic-ing the speeches, synching multicam what a stress that would be..

I think thats why I posted, just to say (if you do this for dosh) go out have fun with a little cam, please people once in a while

Mostly when I shoot (for dosh) im dancing a big pile of balls and that has stress.

Exactly. But you should know that as someone who makes a pretty good living off of doing only Wedding Videography, I thought your work was great. They were lucky to have you there because photos simply cannot, no matter what you do to them, tell as good of a story as a great video can.
 
Its an interesting one - we (or I) will see Pauls pics - the still tog - is my best mate - we both have specific thoughts about weddings and that is (stills or motion) there are a lot of people who take nice photos of out of focus shoes but miss the emotion

Way better than any other wedding video you normally see. I can't stand the crap music, cheesy shots, and overall un original wedding videos out there.

What I find interesting as someone considering a scarley/sony is

would I shoot a better video? - one that their kids will enjoy or at least find interesting?

The little cam I could dance about

But I basically guessed focus and the colours, well I hid them in the 'grade'

It is sort of lunacy that this is a $500 camera and kit lens that fits in my back pocket..
