GH2 nex-5n vs gh2 crop factor

Struggling to understand why it's interesting, especially very. The crop factors/sensor sizes are well understood things.

Interesting because the Sony has a larger sensor? So does the Canon lineup. Doesn't make the GH2 any less of a beast in comparison, although I do think there should be a Sony NEX section of the forum.

it seems gh2 guys are getting jealous about the nex-5n VERY BIG sensor...

Yeah, that and the fact that so many Canon shooters have been defaulting to the GH2 for cleaner video as well. If FOV envy were really an issue, there wouldn't be so many Canon users jumping ship to a relatively small M4/3 chip.

I'm not sure that the 5n even qualifies to be called "VERY BIG". Its just APS-C, like the Canon T2i, 60D, 7D, etc... except that it looks like it doesn't crop inward for video mode, but rather uses some sort of multi-aspect ratio sensor like the GH2 to use a different portion of the sensor instead.
The Canon 5D is "VERY BIG", as in bigger than s35 film. And still people prefer the clean video and superior resolution that the GH cameras seems to be able to crank out. I haven't seen any Nex 5n footage yet, but the original Nex 5 didn't impress me side by side with a GH2. While slightly smaller in video mode than the 5n, it was still a larger sensor than the GH2, yet was hardly considered a "GH2 killer". So, what is so different now?
